Attractive Hospital Gowns?

Hospital patients usually dread wearing a thin, drafty hospital gown. They don't have to anymore, thanks to Designer Hospital Gowns and Surgical Caps (www.hospitalgowns.com).

Clif Shakun, a California entrepreneur, was inspired to create attractive hospital gowns by the vivid memories of his sister sitting in her hospital bed draped in a thin dull pastel blue
gown.

"She always had a lot more fashion style and class than that gown," Shakun said of his sister, Ann, who died several years ago after battling Scleroderma, an autoimmune disorder
that abnormally thickens the skin and may affect internal organs.

Shakun has seen other family members and friends model the same drab hospital garb, leading him to make a fashion statement for a living. His decision to produce designer
hospital gowns is one that could make any person's trip for medical attention more stylish and comfortable.

Developing the project
Shakun worked with Los Angeles pattern-making perfectionist Rick Lofferdo to finalize the hospital gown and surgical cap designs. The hospital gowns come in 15 different prints
and the surgical caps in 37 wild and cool prints that range from Pacific islands to cowboys to ceylon prints. They are available in adult sizes S through XXL with convenient features
such as easy-fastening Velcro closures, back ties, two pockets, shoulders and sleeves designed for range of motion and a hidden body cut through for access to the mid-section.

His in-stock hospital gowns can be worn during any hospital or medical office procedures. They are either 100% cotton or a 55% cotton, 45% rayon blend and all are washed and
ready to wear immediately.

Believing in his dream
Shakun's decision to invest his savings in a clothing design venture was not an easy one. Still, he kept asking himself, "What if? What would happen if I got all wild colors and hot
prints in the latest styles and designed the ultimate hospital gown?"

When he began his business about a 3 years ago, Shakun had to learn the garment business from scratch. But after seeing the initial patients' reactions there was no turning back.
The design entrepreneur is elated about his success. "I had an idea. I said, 'I can,' and I made it a reality," Shakun said.

'Look better. Feel better'
Designer Hospital Gowns charges $65 per hospital gown with a matching surgical cap included. Individual surgical caps are available for $9. All in stock and shipping daily around
the world.

It may seem like a high price to pay, but an evaluation provided by the American Cancer Society supports Shakun's motto "Look Better. Feel Better." The study, which appeared in Vol.
12½ of the 1994 Journal of Psychosocial Oncology, found the correlation between appearance and mood in breast cancer patients to be significant.
